HOW TO USE THE CALENDAR

IMPORTANT NOTE! ACCOUNTS ARE SEPARATE!

If you're new to our site, the first thing to understand is that the logins for the forum and for the calendar are separate. If you've made a username on the forum, the same username won't work on the calendar unless you actually create it on the calendar. For simplicity's sake, it is a good idea to use the same username for both accounts.

MAKING AN ACCOUNT

With that note out of the way, here's how to go about making an account for the calendar. Having an account on the calendar is important because that is where you will sign up for raids and other events.

Head to http://www.themeaningofhaste.net/calendar/index.php?option=com_register
Enter all of the fields
Click 'submit'
Hooray!

MAKING YOUR CHARACTERS

As of 06/23/09, it is of utmost importance that you create an entry for all of your characters that you intend to raid with as well as fill in the Radiance attribute for each character. Certain amounts of Radiance are required for certain Moria raids. You are expected to keep this information up to date.

To make a character:

Login (http://themeaningofhaste.net/calendar/index.php?option=com_login&task=login) if you aren't already
Mouse over 'Create' in the navigation bar near the top
Click 'Character'
Fill in all of the fields
Click 'Submit'
Hooray!

MODIFYING YOUR CHARACTERS

Let's say you just got yourself a nice shiny new radiance helm and you're eager to show it off in a new raid. Well, we won't know that you have it if you don't change your radiance attribute on the calendar! Here's how to do that:

Login (http://themeaningofhaste.net/calendar/index.php?option=com_login&task=login) if you aren't already
Mouse over 'My Account' in the top navigation bar
Click 'Characters'
On the row of the character you want to modify, click the 'pencil and paper' icon to the far right
Edit the fields as necessary
Click 'submit'
Hooray!

SIGNING UP FOR RAIDS

When you sign up for a raid, whether you are Confirmed or not, you are expected to be present and available at raid time. You are also expected to make a clear decision as to which character you intend to bring to a raid and select that character when you sign up. We very much appreciate it when people are willing to bring any of their characters, but we also need you to be decisive when you're doing the choosing!

Login (http://themeaningofhaste.net/calendar/index.php?option=com_login&task=login) if you aren't already
Go to the main calendar page (http://themeaningofhaste.net/calendar/index.php)
Examine a raid by clicking on its icon in the calendar - be sure to read the description and the various statistics associated with the raid!
Click the pencil icon next to 'Status:' in the raid stats
Select your character and its class, and put in any comments if desired
Hooray!

Keep an eye on any raids you sign up for and read the comments, especially those from the raid leader or other officers. They might ask you to bring a different character if you have multiple characters available.

Comments are a great way to make it known to the raid leader that you might be a few minutes late for a raid or to tell them that you are willing to bring any character they want you to. It's also a good place to let the leader know about any locks that you might have on any of your characters.

If for whatever reason you have to drop out of a raid, then don't be shy to do so immediately when you find out! We don't mind at all if you have to drop out as long as we know that you are dropping out - the earlier you let us know, the better, so that we can arrange a replacement. To drop out of a raid, simply find your entry on the raid's page and click the little icon of the red 'X' on the black background. This will you place you into the 'unavailable' section.

CONCLUSION

Remember that you are expected to keep your characters' information up to date, especially their Radiance level! This information is crucial to forming a proper raid in some instances. Also remember that even if you don't get confirmed for a raid, if you're signed up and not in the 'Unavailable' box, we expect you to be there and be ready to go just in case someone drops that you can replace!

See you at the raid!
